NFL concussions soar to the highest number in the past four years, league says

The NFL's concussion problem isn't getting any better — at least, according to data the league released Friday.

League data shows NFL players suffered a total of 271 concussions during preseason and regular season games this year. That's 65 more than were reported in 2014, and the highest such number the league has seen in the past four years

More than 230 concussions came from in-game action, while 37 came during practice, data shows. In total, the number of concussions this season rose 31% from 206 reported in 2014. It's the highest number since 2012, when players suffered 261 concussions. Read more...
