Alexa, I need a ride.
Amazon Echo — part-wireless speaker, part smart-home gadget — can now order you an Uber when you ask its built-in digital assistant Alexa for one. The device will respond to a series of verbal requests such as "get me an Uber" or even "call me a taxi."
The integration, first spotted by The Verge, makes a lot of sense: Uber wants to make it even easier for you to get a car on demand, and Amazon wants the Echo to become your smart-home second hand, whether it's to get news updates or even order a pizza. Read more...
