Sundance review: Nick Jonas brings the brotherhood to hazing drama 'Goat'

PARK CITY, Utah — The strength and illusion of brotherhood, whether born from birth or promise or circumstance, is the focus of the Sundance premiere Goat. It's appropriate, then, that Nick Jonas dives deep into a serious role for the film, playing a fraternity member who guides his younger brother through a hellish and ultimately destructive pledge process.

Delirious and even frightening in its best moments, Goat recreates hazing scenarios that range from dumb 'n drunk to flat-­out frightening, with howling young men spewing homophobic provocations at aspiring pledges who want the social benefits of brotherhood. Read more...
